How You’ll Make an Impact

As a Facilities & Maintenance Operative, you will play a vital role in keeping our centres safe, functional, and welcoming for children, families, and colleagues.

You will:

• Deliver reactive and planned maintenance across multiple Tigers Childcare locations to support safe, high-quality service delivery.
• Ensure buildings, grounds, equipment, and outdoor areas are maintained to a high standard and in line with regulatory requirements.
• Identify, report, and where appropriate resolve hazards to protect the health, safety, and welfare of children, colleagues, and visitors.
• Support compliance with Health & Safety, fire safety, and safeguarding standards across all services.
• Provide practical, responsive support to centre teams, enabling them to focus on delivering excellent childcare.
• Contribute to a culture of safety, professionalism, and pride in our environments.

What You’ll Need to Succeed

Must-Haves

• Proven experience in a maintenance or facilities role with strong general DIY and repair skills.
• Full clean driver’s licence and access to own transport (van preferred).
• A good working knowledge of Health & Safety obligations.
• Confidence using mobile systems or apps to log and track work.
• Strong organisational skills, with the ability to work independently across multiple sites.
• A reliable, flexible, and solution-focused approach to work.

Nice-to-Haves

• Experience in a childcare, school, or care environment.
• A trade qualification (e.g. carpentry, plumbing, electrical).
• Familiarity with Computer-Aided Facility Management (CAFM) or maintenance management systems.
• Experience coordinating external contractors.
• Knowledge of fire safety or statutory building compliance.
